For those in a hurry: Fast track to the Mosaic Generator!
Armin, our head honcho when it comes to coding, clearly has too much time on his hand. So he sat down and created a generator for Photographic Mosaics. With a little help of more than 100,000 packshots and screenshots, the generator converts your photos into cool game mosaics. To do so, the generator examines the colors in your photo area by area. It replaces them with a matching screenshot (or packshot, depending on what you choose).
Before the tin hats go crazy: Your original image will be deleted immediately after the processing. The mosaic will be removed ten minutes later (so you have enough time to download it before).
Here is an example of what it looks like (mind you: This works better on pictures with decent content instead of our model and co-founder Christian)…

You can choose from six different mosaic modes. Shown here: "small packshots."
And here the mosaic in the variant "medium packshots" which we like best for most cases. Zooming in, you can identify the single games the picture has been composed of.

Our favorite: In "medium packshots" mode, you can see the individual games as you zoom into the image.
You can choose from six variants of how retroplace generates the mosaics. What the other modes look like, you'd better test for yourself: Go here for the Mosaic Generator.
And hit that like button, will ya?
